Question
QUESTION: I have an apricot tree that is oozing orange sap and one of the small branch is dying, could you please tell me how to treat it.
thaks
farida

ANSWER: Hi Farda...Learned this along time ago.  Take a sewing needle and push it thru the area where it is gummy and you will kill the borer that is in there...wala  no poison, it really works.

QUESTION: Kathy,
Thanks for the help, I did what you suggested with a needle, do I seal the place where the sap is coming out of with a pruning sealant after I am done.
Thanks again
Farida

Answer
Hi farda...I have never sealed any tree up and they all did fine.  I know up north the paint trees and put sealers on them, I know of no nursery here if Florida that does.  The needle trick should do the job and the sap should stop running.  My dad had a nursery in NJ and that is how he healed the flowering pear trees when borers got into them...he is gone now but not forgotten.
