Plant Diseases - zucchini and yellow squash plants

Expert: James Shellenback - 6/26/2009

Question
We planted 1 each in 5gal.buckets. Started out healthy, many blooms, and even small squash/zucchini growing now. But, leaves have started turning yellow, starting from bottom of plant going upward. Also noticed what looke like "stink bugs" crawling on both plants. Eventually the stems with the yellowed leaves become yellow also, and start withering. We have sprayed with seven dust. What is our problem and what can we do to correct it? Can you help us?

Answer
You have some moisture issues resulting in unbalanced plants.  Insects are beginning to sense this and are moving in for the kill as its their job.  If you go to atomicgrow.com ag/farming tab you will see a professional squash trial sprayed and unsprayed.  I have used this product on squash and cukes and it rocks.  It will make all your problems go away too.
