Question
in the spring my red apple was full and beautiful slowly patches started dieing off. now there are big brown patches through out the whole area. I was getting rid of the dead parts and there were major amounts of rolly polly bugs . can they have something to do with my problem

Answer
Ron:

In most cases, these and other insects of this type come in AFTER the fact.  Wood begins to decay and insects seek out these areas to set up housekeeping.  Wood boring insects like many bark beetles, can be attracted to trees that are stressed for a variety of reasons.
