Question Hi I had a full tummy tuck done 3 weeks ago in the Dominican republic I had my drainage removed after 9 days it was under 50CC now I am back in Boston where I live and my left side where the drainage was is building allot off fluid I went to the ER and they would not see me...What can I do? who can I see? I cannot go back to the Dominican Republic and I do not have money to pay a surgeon to see me.
Answer Hi Elizabeth,
There's more at www.bodysculpture.com.
I'm sorry to hear about the problem you're having. This is, of course, one of the reasons to have surgery with a surgeon you can go back to, if necessary, if questions arise in any point in the healing process and during the recovery.
I would suggest the following:
1) Contact your surgeon and see if he/she has a working relationship with a surgeon in your area. Sometimes people have reciprocal relationships of this kind.
2) Ask the Emergency Room for a referral to someone who may be able to see you.
3) Contact a local medical center; specifically, the plastic surgery clinic or any referral service there to see if there is someone who can see you.
You may need to contact a social service agency to assist with any financing.
Other than that, I am not sure what to suggest at this time. Sorry about that...
