Subject: Rhinoplasty Changes - When IsToo Late?

Question
I want my plastic surgeon to make my profile slightly sloped, something which I didnt address in my consultation (my fault, I know) How many days before surgery is it too late to tell a surgeon this without the surgery being rescheduled or is this something which I could tell him the day of surgery and not be a big deal? That is the only change I want to make from our original consult.

Thank you

Answer
I would think that the more time you can give your surgeon the better.  Last minute changes often raise the question of how serious they are, and whether or not there would be another last-minute change back to the original plan.

Once you've made your decision - whatever it is - you should contact your surgeon to let him/her know what you want.  This is not something that you need to contact them about over a weekend or in the middle of the night - but I'd put in a call the next time the office is open, and just make sure that the two of you are on the same page.

I hope that this helps, and good luck,

Dr. E
