Plastic Surgery/restylane injections

Question
Hello,
I've had restylane injected to my lips three times by three different doctors and it has never lasted longer than four days. It simply used to disapear and my lips would get back to normal size. How is that possible? I really want to have full lips but I am just afraid to try something different as restylane, which is one of the longest lasting fillers, didn't work with me. Any comments or advises would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Jasmine,

I'm sorry to hear that the injections have not been lasting very long in you.

It is certainly true, in my experience, that these injections last a much shorter period of time in the lips than in other areas, such as the nasolabial folds.  However, four days sounds like a very short period of time.

How much is being injected?  Most people need at least 1 cc for their lips, and sometimes more (there is a limit to how much can be put in at any one time; if more is desired it can be done a week or so later.

However, if you've been getting that much, then the only other possiblity that I can think of is that it is being injected too deeply.  Again, though, with three different doctors, it's hard to imagine why it hasn't been working!

The only though, therefore, is to make sure you've been getting enough material for your treatment.

I hope that this helps, and good luck,
