Question
My daughter had botox injections around her eyebrows to try and decrease her
migraines.  One week later one of her eyelids began to droop.  What can she do
to improve her situation.

Hi Laura,

Sorry about the problem your daughter is having.  The good news is that this effect typically wears off long before the cosmetic effects of the Botox do, so she should still derive a lot of benefit from her treatment.

There are several treatments available, either from her plastic surgeon or from an ophthalmologist, namely Alphagan or Iopidine.  These stimulate other muscles in the eyelids that are not typically effected by Botox.  I found a nice discussion of this at realself, so take a look at this:

you can also google "droopy eye botox" of all things, and learn even more!

Again, I'm sorry for the trouble, but may this be the worst!

Good luck,

Dr. Alan Engler
