Question Three years ago, at the age of 35, I tried a subcision procedure to lessen the indentation of the glabella lines. It was performed twice, as the doctor was unsatisfied with the initial results. When the swelling went down, more lines formed than were there previously, and the indentations are now deeper. The scar tissue beneath the skin did not go away, lending a heavy brow look. Is there any way to break up the scar tissue at this point?

Hi David,
Getting rid of scar tissue is very, very difficult. Anything that you do to try to remove it risks causing more and additional scar tissue. This can apply to any part of the body.
That doesn't mean that scar tissue can never be removed. It can and has been removed, or diminished, in many situations; it's just that it's hard to guarantee in advance that that can be accomplished.
In your case, I would think it will be very hard to do...you may want to consider Botox injections two or three times a year to soften the muscles around the creases.
But it's hard to me to offer an absolute solution to this without being able to examine you. That being said, I think it will be hard to eliminate the scar tissue you're talking about.
