QUESTION: I am hoping to get your expert medical opinion on a 3/4 tummy tuck I have just recently had. The scars on my sides entering my back are nothing we discussed, or what was drawn. The scars are horrific and have terrible tog ear, rippling and pleating. The lines that she had initially drawn, were supposed to be straight across entering my back, and came out curving down ward. She also assured me when she pulled my public line up, she said wouldn't pull it up so high that it wld look funny or unnatural. My public line now is pulled up ridiculously high and is embarrassing. PLEASE help me with your medical expertise and input. I wld very much so appreciate it.

Thank you,

Katie.

ANSWER: hello katie,
how long since the surgery are these photos?i presume that it shouldnt be not more than 2-3 weeks post op.
iam sorry that you are unhappy and there were some discrepancies.
The good news is that you will improve with time,pl dont be in a hurry to correct anything wait atleast for 3-6 months and then review the situation.
the dog ears can be corrected nicely after 3 months, just hangon till then.
By the way,
where had you got this done?was she a qualified plastic surgeon?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Hello again. Those photos were just over a week post op. I had my surgery done at Athenix. I did ask her about her cirtificstuons, but I never saw copies. I trusted that she was honest about that. From what you see in these photos, does this look like a successful surgery? It doesn't look or feel that way to me, from all that I've seen. She is telling me now that if I wanted it to not slope down the way she "had" to do it, (even tho that is now what we discussed nor what she drew the markings to be) I would have to have a full body lift. What are your thoughts on this? I did ask to speak with the chief of surgery and have an apt with him this Saturday.

Thank you for getting back to me, hope for your response soon.

Katie.

Answer
Thanks for the reply,
please send me your pre op photos,if possible and also the same view of post op photos.
There seems to be gross disparity in the sutured tissues.Cosmetic surgeons can be non plastic surgeons also.i did see that in athenix there are both ,if you know the  name of the doctorwell know if she is a plastic surgeon or not.hope this helps.Once you send the pics ill be able to give you an unbiased opinion.
