Thank You
Ramya
ANSWER: As I usually do not get involved in paediatric plastic surgery I am not able to answer the question about timing of surgery. Because you are asking about charges and fees, I guess you will not health insurance for the baby when you arrive in the US, in this case it would be best to consult a plastic surgeon who performs surgeries for congenital ear deformities and find out the best time for the surgery to be performed. If you will be in India at that time then you are better off having the surgery performed there as the surgeons in India are very competent and the charges and fees are going to be much lower. When you arrive here and by that time you child has not had surgery then contact me at GKohli@LLU.EDU and I will help you put in touch with the best person to do your daughter's surgery. Safe trip and welcome to America. I am located in California but I will be able to locate a plastic surgeon in anyother state that you may be.
Best of luck.

I have sent a mail already to your email id.I was there in USA till my 7th month of pregnancy and i came to India for my delivery. Now i m planning to go back to USA.\
Here doctors conducted
Brainstem evoked Response audiometry(BERA) and Acoustic Emission for her left ear and reported that test results are negative.Only her right ear is partially absent but they dint do anything for her right ear and they did for her left ear and reported negative.I m totally confused by this.
They are also urging me to do a inplant surgery immeadtely within this month as the child grows it may affect her speech since she is not able to hear.I am having insurance in USA and we are in Connecticut,USA.
I am waiting for your reply. This is my personal email ids ramyaa_csr@yahoo.co.in,rsn_2k2@hotmail.com.

Answer Dear Ramya,
The problem you now describe is different and most probably require early treatment for optimum hearing and neurological development of the baby. Bay should be able to recognize sounds at normal stages to help in its normal language and other development that depend on the auditory input. Please do not worry you are going to be in Connecticut amidst the world best places for medical care. As soon as you arrive back home I would recommend that you take your child to your paediatrician and then you will be referred to the appropriate specialists. Please keep me posted. It may be in your baby's best interest to return home earlier that your present plans.
