Hello Robert,

I need to mold (1) 4"L x 6" W x 0.04" T Sorbothane sheet (50 - OO) in the shape of a tray of sort. What I don't know however, is what is the optimal temperature and the right way to mold the sheet and a rough cost estimate for 1000 sheets.

Also, how can I cut and shape a similar sized sheet (40/50 - OO) to use as a gasket?

Moulding is not the best option I would recommend that you thermoform the part or vacuum form the part (Cheapest option).
Cost wise if you chose the vacuum form option it will be the lowest cost option thermoforming is very high volume high tooling cost.
Both options use a sheet material apply temperature and form using air and pressure the thermoforming way cuts the form from the sheet as part of the process.
Vacuum forming you could have small part sheets die cut from a larger sheet and load them individually depending on tool size into the vacuum former.
For your gasket option the vacuum process would be the same.
