Question Hi
I am going to put up a 6 foot high ceder panel fence around a play area. The panels are 8 feet long. should I leave exatly 8 feet between posts or 1/8 of an inch more to alow for expansion.
I was going to concrete the treated posts in the ground first and then put the panels in later.
Answer Set posts to actual fence sections length, measure, 8'to center of post not between posts. Wood sections will shrink a little if anything. Sections exactly 8'?than set posts 8' on center. More important make sure fence is far enough away from any play structure or swings.
Min. 6 to 8 ft.around play structure, in front of slide and at least twice the hieght of the swing beam, front and back. 8' high swings = 16' ft front and back. Good luck
