Question
I am looking for a script of the musical 'The Witches of Eastwick' on the web as I am doing the costumes for a production of it when I get back to Australia from the UK where there is a script waiting for me, but I wanted to do some extra work for it before I go home. Any ideas where I can get it? its only for a couple of weeks.
thanks
sarah

Answer
Hi Sarah,

You will not find the script for just about any musical on the web due to legal, copywright and financial considerations.  No publisher would make that information so easily and publically available since they are responsible for licensing productions and collecting the appropriate royalties and rental fee, and it's just too easy to do a show illegally if the script is available to the public without payment or legal rights.

I would have suggested that you contact the publisher and get a perusal copy, but I have checked all the usual US publishers of musicals (Tams-Witmark, MTI, R&H Theatre Library and Samuel French) but none of them have "The Witches of Eastwick" in their catalogues.  You might want to contact your producer and see if they could mail you a copy of the script or contact the rights holder to do the same.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Best,
Arlene (MsDirector)
