Question We gutted and are remodeling the bathroom. Hubby is putting a floor drain outside the whirlpool in case of splash/whatever. We cannot get the drain to attach to the drain pipe. There is a basket shaped item at floor about 3 inches deep. Black rubber gasket keeps moving as we try to slide pipe onto drain. I have looked online for a diagram but cannot find anything. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kathy
Answer Hi Kathy Lynn,
There are several types of drains. Please send me a picture of the one you are using so I can see which one it is. And don't forget, the drain must have a trap and be vented properly or it will not work and can allow sewer gases into the house.
Best,
Dana
