Question I have a 1970 Detroit mobile home. I put some things down the bathroom sink drain that I should not have. I have used an auger thru the pvc pipe to try to clear the drain. I have now found a road block where the auger will only go so far and that is it. It would drain some what before that but it appears it will not drain currently. What do you suggest that I do?
Answer Hi Nathan,
Bad boy, go to your room. LOL
Snaking through the trap is tough. What is happening is that you are hitting the tee fitting at the wall and the snake is not making the turn. You will need to remove the p-trap and get into the tee directly so you can aim the snake down the drain pipe. From that point on, the fittings should all be "flowed" (smooth turns) so the the snake will go past.
Good Luck,
Dana
