Question
my basement is unfinished, but they did stub in for a bathroom in one corner. My question is, why did they not concrete the entire floor. They left a square open, which is just dirt, around all of the plumbing that enters the ground, I am assuming entrance to the septic tank. This is really bothering me and no one around here seems to know why. I want to get some quikcrete and finish it off, but want to me sure it will not bother anything

Hi Toni,
This area might be what is called a "box out" and it is used for the tub drain. The end of the tub with the drain goes over this area and it allows the needed depth for the trap which extends down below the floor level. I would not fill it in. A tub will cover it and allow access at some future point for repairs if needed. A picture of the area would be helpful to be sure.
