I have worked on a variety of major projects including Home Depot as an outsourced Project Manager tasked to repair the fire system at the Fullerton/Placentia store and distribution center in Orange County. I believe in simplifying any task I am assigned in order to avoid wasting time and material, while I always look for the simplest solution possible to the issue and then I execute my plan. Having lead many construction crews, large and small, I have been involved in residential and commercial repair and remodel projects including medical facilities, new home construction, high rises and apartment complexes. Building maintenance work in condominium complexes from Playa del Rey to Beverly Hills to the Hollywood Hills are a speciality. I have completed many maintenance work projects at complexes great and small.

Plumbing in the Home - switch an outdoor toilet for washing machine

Hi there
Bascially I have an outdoor building with a toilet inside and I am looking to swap it for a washing machine so i can have a utility room and more space in the kitchen. There is a cold water feed there already feeding the toilet and i have a cold feed only washing machine and so getting water to the WM is no problem, its the run off that im unsure about. Can I run the washing water out down the same pipe as the toilet waste would go down. The main reason I ask is that someone told me the toilet runs into the main sewer directly where as normal water from your baths, sinks, washing machine etc goes into the drains and runs off seperately.
I thought all waste would run to the same place but want to be sure but dont know how to find out.

Any help would be much appreciated

It seems to me that if the pipe carrying the toilet wastes is in good condition,
there should be no problem sending laundry water down the same drain.
