Question
how do we install a trap to ensure that the wind does not blow out the pilot
light out

Answer
you dont. just try to eliminate drafts in the room or have the burner assembly serviced. if its not a sealed burning chamber, then it will be leaking within a couple of more years and the new one will have a sealed burning chamber. dont put anything near the burner now, it will start a fire.
