About Dana Bostick
Expertise
Pretty much any residential plumbing questions. Note: I live and work in Southern California. We do not as a rule use boilers, hot water or steam heating systems or wells so my knowledge in those areas is limited. There are others here that can probably answer those questions better. "We all is city folk" out here! What is a "well" LOL

Plumbing in the Home - hot water governor?

Expert: Dana Bostick - 7/10/2009

Question
Hi--We just had a plumber install a shower faucet,It's a Pegasus, estate set, classic collection. The maximum hto we can get is not hot enough for me. Is there a way to adjust for more hot in the mix? We have a tankless water heater currently set at 125 deg. Thanks in advance for you advice.  Ann

Answer
Hello Ann,
This is an "anti-scald" valve. It should have an adjustment in the handle area somewhere.  Look at the directions that came with it. If the plumber didn't leave them, get him to provide them to you, they're yours. Or check with Home Depot, that's where it came from.
Best,
Dana
