AboutCarolyn Expertise I have worked in Electrical Engineering for 30 years in power distribution and am now a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer, but I am a handy homeowner more than anything else and have a lot of skills when it comes to home repairs. Bathroom remodeling, flooring, painting, reconditioning old wood items, plumbing, car repairs and troubleshooting most problems. I think of myself more of a teacher than someone that is going to tell you exactly what you have to do, but I will share as much info as I have to help get your problem fixed, so if you are not interested in learning then don't ask me a question or rate me if you don't like my answers. To me, it is all about the journey so lets share the trail for a short ride and see where it takes us!
I also want to give thanks to both my Mom, who has passed and my Dad, who raised us with the "Can Do" attitude and instowed such confidence in not only my life but everyone that ever came in contact with them.
You can do anything that you set our minds too if only you can break it down into pieces and just tackle one piece at a time, for the rest will fall into place.
Experience My greatest accomplishment was finishing my first bathroom upgrades in my first home which helped me to sell my home is less than 3 days by myself with a For Sale By Owner sign and no more. Plus I got $10,000 more for it in just 4 years of owning it, now that is great equity.

Question I have a new home(1 1/2 years old) and recently (last 3 weeks) we've had issues with our shower head in only the master bath making vibration sounds when you open the single handle knob midway open between hot and cold. When the knob it opened all the way to hot, it doesn't make any vibration sounds and vice versa for cold. I have a small access panel in the back of the shower to access the handle, but not the shower head. The pipes are vibrating to the touch, but the sounds seems to be coming from the shower head. How can I get this pulsating sound and vibrations to stop?
Answer Hey Jeff,
Using a towel or something soft to place around the shower head so as not to scratch it, get a wrench and unscrew it. Next making sure to not make a mess, make sure the line is aimed into the middle of the tub or to the wall and turn on the water and flush it out and while you have the head off inspect it for hard water deposits. You can soak it in vinegar if you find any. I hope that you will get a good flow of water thru your line and see if you get any vibration or sounds without the head being on. If no sounds or vibration are pressent, replace the head or clean it really good, which ever works for you. And since you have a access panel open it up and where you see pipes going up to the shower secure them with some pipe straps and that should stop your vibration if you can reach them or you may have to come up with another idea for supporting them. This may also be an indicator of a bad faucet and you may also look into checking out any o-rings on your valve stems to make sure that all is well with them, one never knows, even being new, stuff can be defective so check out these sites out as well!
I hope these help and good luck,
~Carolyn~
