Plumbing in the Home/Bathroom sink slow drain, no clog

Question
My bathroom sink has a slow drain but i checked the p-trap and no clog. Is there something else I could look at? Maybe the pipe behind the p-trap is clogged in the line somewhere? Or do I need some sort of air vent under the sink? Please help.

Answer
Bryan, It is absolutely necessary that the line be vented. If it worked before without issue, then something has changed.
Remove the P.O.plug, the drain plug, and run some water, if it is still slow, remove the trap and put a small rod in the line as it may be clogged at an elbow in the wall or floor.
