Question i feel i can change the pump i am quite confident it looks pretty straight forward, the electrical side is fine as im a sparky.
as for the quote: "To bleed air need to add water, there is a safety which will not not boiler over heat and crack" could you briefly explain how to bleed the air, is it simply via the rads or is it somewhere else.
Many thanks for your help

Question -
Hope you can help, my boiler has just started making a noise when is starts up, sounds like a kettle boiling loudly. Then it will stop for a bit (maybe 5 mins) then start up again.
I have a Y plan system which is tank fed from loft and boiler in kitchen.
Above the boiler is a drain valve so i attached a hose pipe and opended the valve, the water pressure was very poor.... could this be the pump has gone in the airing cupboard? the pump is humming but not sure if working properly its set to full speed (no. 3).
Many thanks

HELLO
It sounds like pump is not circulating water and it is air bound, runs for a while then banging sounds low on water to me. To bleed air need to add water, there is a safety which will not not boiler over heat and crack, and sounds like it is going into a shut down as it heats, since you are not quite sure I would hire a heating company to come over and check it out. Could be a bad pump, as well as low on water.

Answer Hello
To bleed radiators there is a small bleeder sometimes installed under covering in corner or possibly in a coupling in line, the ones in corners require small keys made for this. Just add water and continue to add until circulating and have hot water in system.
If this conventional method does not work, Then by pump and zones there are normally valves to prevent water from circulating, and a series of hose bibs or just one, I usually put a hose on these, each zone requires this if it is set up to purge this way, if floor drain close by, hang on to and aim at drain, they will jump around as air purges, but need to add water to boiler forcing water thru boiler and around zone and out hose. Valve you shut off is below each boiler drain. Each zone needs to be purged independently.
Let me know which one you have if you do not understand send me some pics. sales@espmetro.com
