Plumbing in the Home/Toilet tank

Question
How do I prevent my toilet tank from "sweating" in the summer time?

Answer
Good morning Shirley,    Several things come to mind. There are four ways to prevent sweating. Sweating is caused by the warm air condensing on the cold tank. So you can blot up the sweat with one of those fuzzy tank covers or you could increase the air conditioning to the bathroom thus cutting out the warm air in the room.  Another would be to line the tank and insulate it.  Here is a link to check out tank liners,      http://www.plumbingmart.com/sweatstopper.html                                 Finally, you could tee off a lavatory hot water supply line with 1/8" tubing with a 1/8" inline valve to control the flow. Tie the tubing into the tank supply with another tee and meter warm water into the tank heat the tank water enough so it wouldn't sweat. That's about all I know. Cool the air, heat the water or soak it up      . Good luck and thank you for rating my reply. Tom
