Question Hi:I recently replaced a kitchen faucet for a friend of mine. Her home is about twenty-five years old. The old faucet was leaking. It was just a standard two valve unit. She wanted a new unit with a sprayer attachment on it. Her old one did not have this feature. I got her a unit with a single handle that controls the hot and cold water and it also has a spray attachment with it. The water pressure in her kitchen has always been very low. Now when she turns on the water there is a monentary vibration coming from the unit. When she uses the sprayer and releases the button on the sprayer it also vibrates briefly. Do you know what is causing this and is there some way to fix it?
Thanks for your help.
Al
Answer Hey Al,
I can tell you what causes it, but fixing it's another matter. I have the same problem with my brand new Moen kitchen faucet.
What's vibrating is the diverter. What makes it vibrate is the water pressure's not strong enough to keep it closed when she uses the sprayer. When that happens to mine turning the handle to the center position so both hot and cold are turned on will make the diverter flapper seal and stop vibrating. If you can some how increase the pressure to the faucet the vibration will stop.
Good luck and thank you for rating my reply. Tom
