Podiatry - Under foot clicking
Expert: Dr George Tsatsos - 11/5/2009
Question On my left foot at the top close to my 4th toe approx, i on occasion feel as if something is stuck, if i wiggle my toes it seems to " click " and come free, it is painful, but not to bad. I notice it mostly when wearing hard sole shoes - Wellington boots, but don't really get it bear footed. Can you help with what this may be and any guidance please
Answer This Chicago Podiatrist says......
Probably an accessory ossicle(a small little bone around 1/4 inch) or the flexor tendon. As the toes move the tendon or ossicle "catches" around the metatarsal joint. The shoe probably keeps the tendon or ossicle in a certain restricted position-until you "click it". Sort of like putting a train back on track. If the clicking has a burning sensation-see neuroma at our website-AnkleNFoot.com
Hope this answers your question
Good Luck
