Goodmorning:

Ihad cryosurgery on my left foot a week ago.  I have had heel pain for sometime.  Dr. David Lambrewski in Amsterdam, NY did the procedure.  The incision site is still sore and still a little red.  I thought it might be infected so am on a antibotic and it seems to be clearing up but still a little red and slightly painful.  How long before the pain subsides?  Thank you very much

Hi Mary Jo,

Following cryosurgery there can be some redness at the incision from the intense cold.  This is more of a skin reaction.  I would call your surgeon and ask him these questions because the answer varies with each technique.  Traditionally, I would not expect pain at the incison site but maybe more deeply in the foot. So, see your doctor for the best answer and to see if you do have an infection.
