About LG
Expertise
Hello, Dear Reader. My name is LG. I'm able to answer most of your questions about ALL POKEMON GAMES. Since I became an Expert in this category (+- 4 years ago), I became fascinated by the internal structure of Pokémon and I started to check all game info and all game research data. As a Pokémon Trainer, I know a lot about all game walkthroughs, stats, attacks, strategies, breeding, evolution and much more. If I don't know the answer, I'll look it up for you or I'll redirect you to one of my Fellow Experts. I hope to read you soon! :)

Experience
About nine years ago I started playing Pocket Monsters with my first game, Pokémon Red. I became addicted to the game and bought its equivalent, Pokémon Blue and later on the special version, Pokémon Yellow. After that, I bought all the games of Pokémon that were released for the Game Boy platform by pre - ordering them in my local shop. I'm still checking the data of the Pokémon Research today, even data from the old First Generation.

Question
What is the mystery gift???

Answer
Hi Daniel,

The term ' Mystery Gift ' can mean two things.

First, ' Mystery Gift ' can be described as the wireless connection between your Game Boy and some other system.

Second, ' Mystery Gift ' can also be described as the present you receive from that other system.

I always use the term in the first conceptualisation (except if I mention that it is used in the second translation) and it is mostly used on websites in that way.

Now, after having activated the Mystery Gift function in your game (the way to do this, differs between certain versions), you need another system (e.g. another GBA with a Pokémon game of same Generation), off course. But the function of ' Mystery Gifting ' is changed since the days of Pokémon Gold / Silver / Crystal : this wireless connection is never used except if you need it in a Nintendo Event.

A Nintendo Event is an event that is organised by Nintendo and where items such as the Aurora Ticket (to get Deoxys), are obtainable through Mystery Gifting. A special machine on that event will ' Mystery Gift ' you the item(s).

Where and when a Nintendo Event will take place appears on the following website (in the News - section) :

http://www.pokemon.com

You need the Adobe Flash Player to view the website. You can download the Player on the following webpage :

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl...

A Nintendo Event is only held occasionaly.

Good luck and have fun! :)

~LG~
