Question
Where does Entei usually hang out? I had found him them turned off my gameboy so I need to find him again so I can follow him and eventually catch him (:

Answer
Hi Amy,

There is no spot where Entei (or one of the other two Legendary Dogs) usually hangs out. It runs randomly around in Johto. However, once you encounter Entei, you can follow the procedure mentioned below in order to catch it:

First of all, there are two problems when trying to catch Entei: (1) it flees away when you encounter it and (2) Entei also knows the move "Roar" in order to repel your Pokémon (and to stop the battle). This means the procedure doesn't garantuee you a 100% catch, only an easier way to catch it.

Now, when you encounter Entei, trap it with a move like Spider Web (learned by the Spinarak serie) or Mean Look (learned by the Gastly serie). Make sure your Pokémon is quicker than the dog and can use one of this moves first. In that way the dog cannot flee anymore and has to fight you.

Once trapped, hope that it didn't use Roar the first time. Now put it to sleep or freeze it. Again, the Gastly series are perfect for the job because they can learn Hypnosis. You can also additionally confuse it (the Gastly series learn the move Confuse Ray) to prevent the use of Roar.

The following thing you need to do is to lower it's HP as low as you can. A special move is designed to do this called False Swipe (learned by the Scyther serie). This move cannot knock out your Pokémon, which means you can lower the dog's HP to 1.

Last thing to do is to put it into sleep again (if it isn't asleep or frozen already) or to paralyze it. Throwing then some Ultra Balls at it will do the trick.

If you don't get it the first time, keep trying, because once damage is inflicted on the dog, it keeps that damage the second, third,... encounter. Also, make sure you save regularly to prevent an accidental fainting of the dog.

Good luck catching Entei and have fun! :)

Hello, dear reader. My name is LG. I'm able to answer most of your questions about ALL POKEMON GAMES.

Since I became an expert in this category (+- 8 years ago), I became fascinated by the internal structure of Pokémon and I started to check all game info and all game research data. As a Pokémon trainer, I know a lot about game walkthroughs, stats, attacks, strategies, breeding, evolution and much more.

Experience

About ten years ago I started playing Pocket Monsters on my first game, Pokémon Red. I became addicted to the game and bought its equivalent, Pokémon Blue and later on the special version, Pokémon Yellow. After that, I bought all the games of Pokémon that were released for the Game Boy platform by pre - ordering them in my local shop. I'm still checking the data of the Pokémon research today.
