Question
I will traveling to Southern Poland soon and want to visit areas where my family came from.  I know that in 1910 my great-grandparents are living in Milik Poland.  I have an earlier record that states my great-grandmother is from a town called "odem"  there appears to be a letter before the "o" but its difficult to read.  I was wondering if this was another name for Milik.

Answer
Dear Mathew,
thank you for your e-mail. I am sorry but I can't find any information about other names of Milik and I can't find any other city, village close to Milik that is similar to ".odem"
It may be also different explanation - Polish word "rodem" means "come from" what connected with any city name means "comes from..."
I read about this village history and it goes back to XIV /XV century but it was called Milik from the very beginning.
Look at web site http://milik.ovh.org/index.php?op=powstanie but only oin Polish.

with best regards
