I read your answer to another person's question regarding a work permit. However it leaves me with a couple of questions. Who should I contact and where do I find the necessary application forms if I wish to work in Silesia, Poland? I have an employer and they have asked me to help them with the VISA process.
Thank you very much
Eric
ANSWER: Dear Eric,
thank you for your question and I'm terribly sorry for this delay.
You may apply for a work permit with Province Governor of SIlesia in Katowice in Civil Department. Here is a link with contact information:
However, this is employer who is responsible for filing the application for work permit, and he also is obligated to complete most of the paper work. The process is a very bureaucratic and time consuming. Once the employer realize this, sometimes it becomes problem for him and is not wiling to cooperate. I would suggest to consider retaining lawyer who would prepare all the paper work and will represent the employer in the process. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have more questions.
Kind regards,
Maria Mirek

QUESTION: My current VISA runs out soon and I was wondering if I must leave the country the day it runs out or if staying a week longer is ok?
Answer Hello,
thank you for your message. According to law, you are obligated to leave the country on the day of expiration of your visa at the latest. You may apply for extension of your visa not later than 7 or 14 days (depending if you hold short or long term visa) prior to expiration date.
