Question I am Andrea from Hungary. I am looking for a village in Poland. My grandmother's father came to Hungary in 1914 as a polish soldier. He stayed in Hungary forever. He couldn't go back in Poland. Now we are looking for his family.
His details:
First name: Miklós (Mikolaj)
Surname: Krancsik
Date of birth: ??.11.1895
Mother's name: Bilási Mária
The spelling of his name was different, I do not know how did he write his name in Poland.
The village where he was born is BOROG in Poland.
Can you help me determine where this village was/is located?
Thanks you for your help.

Answer Hi,
I've checked the name Borog and Boróg, but can't find anything of that name. The name could have changed.
If he travelled to Hungary, he was most likely in Galicia which now makes up South Poland and West Ukraine.
His surname has been changed to Hungarian, in Polish it's either Krańczyk or Krancik.
Apart from that I don't know how to help.
Good luck,
Graham
