Question
Growing up we called our Grandma, Bochi, is this correct?

Answer
Dear Vicky

that was probably your family's private approach to the issue. It resembles what children do to the sounds thay cannot reproduce immediately, then the parents accept this as "funny" and this continues to the nec=xt generations. Like when a child cannot say "bathroom" and keeps on saying "bashue".

The common Polish word for grandma is "babcia", pronounced [BAP-tchah].

regards

Maciej
