Is the surname Bohm German or passably Slavic?

Hi David,

The name is certainly German (in German: "Böhm", with the original meaning "inhabitant of Bohemia", see: http://mizian.com.ne.kr/englishwiz/library/names/etymology_of_last_names.htm)

Although Bohemia is now a Slavic country for more that 1500 years, but the name "Bohemia" is Latin and predates the Slavic settlement. The Slavic name of the country is "Czesko", the English form "Czechia" has never been widely used but derivatives therefrom could be found in such names as "Czechoslovakia" and "Czech Republic".
