Question Hi Carlo:
I'm in the process of designing a small water "feature" or fountain. It will sit in a container type pot that is square and about 19" across. The pump will be inside this container and pump water up to a height of around 8 inches above the water surface. Tubing would be probably 1/2 inch flex or copper.
The water would then cascade or bubble up and down...more like trickle down some flat stones.........just making a splashing noise. This fountain would be similar to the small indoor office ones, except outdoors.
I tried a 140 gph pump with a 2 foot piece of flex 1/2 tubing and it was way to much. Plus the pump was too noisy.
I'm looking for a "bubbler" pump that is very quiet.
Maximum height from top of water: 8-12"
Tubing inside diameter: 1/2" flex poly or rigid copper
Height of water after it leaves the top of the tube: 1"
Size of flat rocks: Stacked to 8-12" in a "pyramid" style about 1 foot x 1 foot at base.
I'd also appreciate any brands you can suggest for durability and quiet operation.
Thanks,
Hope to here from you.
Answer Hi Mike,
I would try a pet store for pumps used in fish tanks.
Unfortunately I'm not home right now and I would not have access to my pump chart. In any case, you could submit your query to www.pumpworld.com.
Sorry for not being able to help you at this time.
