Question We are in our third year with a 2000 gallon pond. For the first time our koi are attacking and eating the water lilly blooms. I am feeding the koi oatmeal in the morning and as much koi food as they can eat in 5 min. twice, in the afternoon and evening, but they still go after the flowers. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Answer Hello Larry!
Koi are notorious for destroying plants. A couple of things you can try:
a) protect the plants with specially designed plants protectors and
b) distract them with a cheap and favorite plant of theirs: Water Hyacinth.
Hope that helps.
