Pond & Water Gardening - goldfish with ghost koi

Expert: Eric Mathes - 6/3/2009

Question
I have just recently purchased two baby ghost koi, aprox 2
inches long. the pond that they are in is 5'x4' and 20"
deep. and they don't come to the surface during the day
only at night. My other question is can i put goldfish with
them as have had mixed answers. some say yes i can some say
no i cant..

Answer
Hey James they will come to the top when they get comfortable. I have goldfish and koi in my pond and they are fine. Just remember you need about 3-4 gallons per inch per fish. Don't over load the pond. And the bigger they get the more oxygen they use. Thanks Eric
