Pontiac Repair - 2001 grandprix

Expert: Todd Puccio - 10/2/2008

Question
I have 2001 grandprix that has a display on the dash that monitors gas mileage and other things like doors open. But it does not work and the headlights flash when you put them on auto. The heater and ac also do not work. This problem started off as intermittant problem you could shut the car off and turn it back on and it would be ok but now it happens all the time

Answer
Hi Greg:
Sounds like you either have a power or ground issue going on. Either a loose connecting one of the feeds. check the connetions at the battery first. then what I would do is check to make sure all the fuses are powered up when the key is in the on "run" position. if you have multiple fuses that are not powered up It's suspect a bad power feed to the ignition switch or the ignition switch it's self is bad. good luck :)
