Question
how do i tioghten the belt on the power steering pulley on my 86 pontiac 6000 2.8 liter it has 3 belts under hood instead of the serpintine style

Answer
Hi Casey:

The power steering pump is mounted on brackets with slotted adjustment holes. that one had 3 or 4 bolts bolts or nuts that sttach the pump to the brackets loosen the bolts and nuts and pry the pump away from the crankshaft on the engine which will tighten the belt. DO NOT pry directly on the pump pry on the mounting bracket where ever you can get a good grip and then tighten the bolts while applying the pressure on the pump to keep the tension on the belt. It's not hard but a helper to hold the bar will make the job easier to do. Good luck :)
