Poodles - Breeding

Question
Hi, Iam trying to breed my female dog. She is not pure poodle but she has some in her. The male i would like to breed her with is a little taller than her, 1-2 inches. Other than that they are about the same size. She is 6 pounds, 4 years old has already had a litter before with a slightly larger dotson without any problems. I dont want to put her in any serious danger but i know the risk with breeding small dogs. Thank you for your time and advice.

Answer
Hello Amber,
As long as your dog is healthy and in good condition, she should be ok to be bred.  Do make sure that the male is a good dog structually, (put together well) and that he is healthy.  Check if you can to see that he doesn't have any genetic issues that could be passed down to the puppies.

Other than that, I hope everything goes well for you and that you have no problems placing the puppies in forever homes.
If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for using AllExperts.com,
Kim
