Question
We have two standard poodles.  However, the male is constantly gettin yeast infections in his ears.  Can you recommend something for this.  We keep taking him back to the doctor and it is the same thing all over again.

Answer
Hello Patricia,
When you clean out the ears, you might use a Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide mixture to help remove the debris.
Here is a website that tells how to make an ear cleaning solution out of ingredients that you can get from your local Pharmacy.
http://www.zimfamilycockers.com/EarCleaner.html
It is a Cocker Spainel website, but it works great for Poodles also.

You can also use the same treatment in your dogs ears as a female would use for a vaginal yeast infection.  Get the 5-7 day treatment rather than the 1-3 day treatment.
I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for using AllExperts.com,
Kim
