Question
what is the size difference between a standard poodle and a royal standard?

Answer
Hello Maria,
While there isn't a real defination of height according to the American Kennel Club (AKC) guidelines, they are classified as Standard, Royal, and Giant.
The Standard is anything from 15"-20", the Royal is from 20"-25", and the Giant is anything above 25".  The average size for a "Standard" poodle is around 24"-26" at the shoulder for males and 22"-24" at the shoulder for females.  I have heard of "Giant" poodles being 33" before.

Its the same for the Toys.  The Tiny Toy and Teacup Poodles are just a height recongnization and are not recongnized by the AKC.

I hope this helps you.  If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.

Have a great day, and Many "Royal" Tail Wags.
