Question
i have had a potbelly pig for about 1 year and at first when i got her she was and
inside pig. but no i have to put here outside and her skin is all red  with little
dots of blood and she has missing patches of hair. i have tried to find a vet near
vet but i cant find one any where around the wallnut creek CA  area so if any one
knows of one please let me know thanks.

Answer
It sounds like a parasite problem, probably sarcoptic mange mites.
We can find you a pb vet on our educational pig list on our home page under LINKS for the entire US.
If you wish to join, go to http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/PigINFOandCHAT/
Your pig will probably need two injections of Ivermectin 14 days apart.
Talk later,
