Pot Bellied Pigs - pregnancy

Expert: Helen Morrison - 11/4/2009

Question
How soon does a pobelly pig start to gain weight when she is pregnant?

Answer
Pot-bellied pig gestation period is about three months, three weeks, and three days. A healthy pregnant pig rarely shows outward signs of pregnancy until the last week or two. At that point the teats begin to make milk for the babies, and the pig may exhibit nesting behavior. A slim pig might appear to put on a few pounds towards the end of pregnancy. An overweight pig may show no sign of weight change at all.
