Question
I got a mini pig last night and when we got him i noticed his penis was out...she said she thought it was because he was in a pin with 2 female pigs and it should go back in soon. today it had went in a little and then i noticed he was bleeding a little at the top....any ideas on what i should do or what it could be from?he is urinating fine.he is also an inside pig.

Answer
Intact male pigs often leave their penises out. As you can see, this is not a safe thing to do.

Fixed male pigs seldom leave their penises out, when they do, it is often a sign of urinary tract problems.

If the penis does not retract or shows signs of damage or infection, piggy will need to see a vet. There's a list of vets that see pet pigs at www.farec.org
