Question I JUST GOT A PBP HE'S ABOUT 2YRS OLD. I BROUGHT HIM HOME TWO DAYS AGO AND SINCE THE FIRST NIGHT AS SOON AS MY HUSBAND GOT HOME FROM WORK HE SEEMED REALLY EXCITED TOWARDS HIM AND KEPT JUMPING ON HIM BUT NOT IN A TOO FRIENDLY WAY. A FEW SECONDS LATER HE URINATED BUT LITTLE JELLY TYPE OF BALLS CAME OUT TOO. AGAIN YESTERDAY WHEN HE GOT HOME HE DID THE SAME AND WOULD GO AFTER HIM. ALSO WHEN I GOT HOME FROM WORK HE WOULD PUSH ME WITH HIS SNOUT, THIS IS OUR FIRST TIME WITH A PIG AND NOT SURE IF THIS IS NORMAL OR IS HE JUST GETTING USED TO US.
Answer It sounds like your male pig is intact, and trying to display mating behavior. Pigs are driven by their hormones. Getting your pig neutered by a veterinarian with anesthesia is the best solution. The behavior and drive to mate will quickly disappear. Males neutered properly (not "farm style") usually become very calm and friendly. There's a partial list of veterinarians who see pet pigs at www.farec.org
