Yes, he made paintings during the time period he described to us in the mid 1960's as being his "Chinese" phase. We have a large painting of his of plump birds (quail or similar), in addition to his ceramics, and it does have a very oriental look.

I believe I have two of his paintings from this period.  My parents would have picked them up in the late 60s/early 70s.

Mexican Tourist Pottery (20th century) only, cannot answer any other kind of pottery q. I can usually identify what region a piece came from, maybe even who may have made it and its likely age. I started buying and selling Mexican Tourist Pottery in 1982 and have been told I have the biggest selection in a shop in the U.S. (I don`t know that this is true.) I do NOT want to be in the position of pricing pieces for people to put on eBay, since i am a buyer.
