Question My name is Lindsey Oliver and im sixteen years old, I was grown up on Elvis. Im not like other kids who are in to rap, screamo and other worthless crap. Im in to Elvis presley, He's my hero and my idol. My mother was involed with Elvis Impersonaters. She's met his cousin and Daughter. I met his one cousin but not his daugther lisamarie.My mother also wrote a book on him and the impersonaters. Anyways my question is, did Elvis love Pricila as much as he loved Lucy? i'm so confused. I prey that he loved Lucy more considering he did so many songs on her. thankx and i'll be talking to you soon!!!

Thanks for writing. Your question is predicated on the assumption that Lucy de Barbin's story of her relationship with Elvis is non-fiction. While I believe her story is a work of fiction, there is a larger issue introduced in your question, and that is the question of whether Elvis experts, friends, or even family members should be addressing Elvis's personal feelings, beliefs, and opinions. It is my position that questions about Elvis's personal opinions or feelings on any subject should be addressed only by him. If a close friend or family member can provide insight, that's fine, but the bottom line is that Elvis, and only Elvis, can say what his opinion is on any given matter at any given time. So, in this case, the question of whom he loved, and to what degree, is answerable only by him. Lacking his input, the question is not answerable.
I don't mean to be long-winded here, or argumentative, it's just that too many people step in and answer questions like this when they really don't have the "right," if you will, to do so.
At this point, I could tell you my own opinion on Elvis's feelings for Priscilla, but the only information I can base that on is what we (the fans) have been told by his friends and family, and Priscilla herself, and that takes us full circle...back to where someone is making a statement on Elvis's behalf, and is not in the position to address such personal matters.
