AboutTony Trout Expertise I can answer any questions relating to the career and life of Elvis Presley...ANY QUESTION!
Experience I have studied Elvis's music and life and career for over twenty years and I feel that I know most everything about Elvis that there is to know.
Education/Credentials I ateended high school until my Junior year but had to drop out due to abuse from the other students (I have Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus)
Question QUESTION: Tony, I am a purist and when replicating the King it has to be perfect or it's not a true tribute. Some of Elvis' costumes suits and belts had names or have since been given names to idenetify them, Aloha Suit, Black Matador, Fringe Suit etc etc. I am trying to find out what belt he wore in the movie Thats's the way it is, when he was rehearsing with the Sweet Inspirations in the days before the show. He was wearing a blue and white floral shirt. The belt was black with what looks like large round silver conchos or similar medallions. Can you tell me which belt it was?
ANSWER: Steve,
Actually, the shirt seemed to be a black/white floral shirt (at least that's what it looks like to me because he wore the same shirt at the Madison Square Garden press conference two years later).
The belt is a turqouis concho belt which isn't made any more. A replica of the belt was placed in an auction recently but it's not the actual belt he wore and the belt can be purchased for about $800.00.
In regards to the names of the jumspuits, they actually have proper names. I'll send you a list tomorrow.
Take Care,
Tony T.

QUESTION: Tony, thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. You're spot on with the shirt. It is black and white. I have a replica of it and when I read your answer I went and looked at it and it is black and white. You've made mention that you the Turquois Concho belt is no longer made. Is there anyone yo know of who does a replica? Cheers Thanks again.
Answer Steve,
I'm a member of a messageboard called the "For Elvis CD Collectors Only" messageboard and there was info about the belt on there (the replica) and I'll have to look that up for you. If/when I find it, I will revise my answer.
Hope that helps!
P.S. I deeply/sincerely apologize for the lax in response to you. We had some bad storms roll through here on Friday night and were without power at all from Friday night until late last night/early this morning.
