AboutMel Priddle Expertise For 50 years I have been listening to, buying and searching into the music of Elvis Presley. If you have a question relating to any song that Elvis recorded (officially, unofficially or privately), then I guarantee to give you an answer. Likewise with his movies. Question A few years ago I heard a record that I believe was titled :The King Of Country Music" and was recorded by a female artist. Some of the lyrics that I can recall.....
"The battered bus pull into one more nameless town
seems like only minutes since he laid his body down".....
"Another town behind hi and he's on the road and then
He's the King of Country Music once again.".......
I would appreciate any help in finding the lyrics to the song....Thank you
Answer Hello Lonnie,
I'm afraid that I can't be of much help to you on this one. I can come up with a couple more lines of the song, but that's it.....
The battered bus pulls into one more nameless town
Seems like only minutes since he laid his body down
Another town behind him and he's on the road and then
He's the king of country music once again
The jug of last night's coffee is bitter and it's cold
And the mirror must be lyin', does he really look that old?
The screamin' fans acknowledge a hit from way back when
And he's the king of country music once again
He's the king of country music once again
I'll keep your question in my"open" file and, if I come across any more information on the song, I'll get back to you.
