Question Where did Elvis get the idea to use the 2001 space odyssey as an opening and closing song at his concerts? When did he start playing that?
Answer July 20,1971. At the Lake Tahoe opening show, will Elvis for the first time enters the stage to the strains of Richard Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra," in the version heard in the movie 2001.
I'm not sure about who came up with the idea,but I guess it could be his conductor Joe Guercio.I will have to check it for you...
